Your complete Guide to Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Travellers’ Programme (FTI-TTP) for Indian Nationals and OCI Cardholders
The FTI-TTP is open now! If you are an Indian with a non ECR [Emigration Check Required] passport, or an OCI Overseas Citizen of India, you can now use the e-gates on your next international trip. No need to wait in long immigration queues any more.
When you are at Mumbai airport, you will see the e-gates being promoted widely.

Take a look at this picture when I arrived at Mumbai airport in April 2025.

My wife and I breezed through immigration in under 5 minutes!
How does this work?
You need to register with the FTI TTP program at the link given below. Once you are on boarded after following the detailed instructions and tips I have given below, you will officially be able to breeze through immigration just like me.
How do you actually go through these gates?
When you approach these gates, you will notice a flat glass window and instructions displayed above it. First it will instruct you to scan your boarding pass, and then the first page of your passport.

You will see the progress on the display. Once your documents are verified, the first gate opens. At times, after scanning you may get a message “proceed to manual gates” but relax, there are helpful officers waiting, ready to help you in case the scan does not work the first time!
After the first gate opens, you step into the holding area, where again you need to follow the instructions displayed on the screen in front of you. Your photo is taken, and one of your fingers is scanned. [follow the instructions on the screen which shows which finger you need to place on the scanner. Only one finger needs to be scanned] Once your scan is confirmed, the second gate opens, and you are free to go and collect your baggage if you have any, or just leave and go home!
With FTI-TTP, you get to zoom through immigration via special fast-track lanes and save a lot of time. In Mumbai at arrival in T2 the lanes are right in the first zone, even before First/Business class.

- You will get a QR code also in the email. As a next step, you need to get your biometrics enrolled at Mumbai Airport (or any other designated International Airport in India) during your next international travel.

- Registration of Biometrics: The final step will be when you visit the airport, where your biometrics will be captured, and you will officially become a Trusted Traveler. The applicant must carry the Passport(Indian as well as Foreign in case of OCI card Holders) and OCI card(in case of OCI Card Holders) in original at the time of enrollment/registration of biometrics. At Mumbai T2 Immigration, the FTI TTP Registration and Biometric scanning used to be done at the extreme right of the Hall at departure, and many Immigration officers were initially unaware of this. The registration process is short and doesn’t take more than 5 minutes. A photo and fingerprint scan is taken.

The status regarding approval of your enrollment in Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Program will be communicated to you on your registered email after successful capturing of biometrics. You will get an email confirming that you are officially registered.
