People celebrate when good triumphs over evil. All of us have an innate desire to be good, and for justice.

Have you ever wondered why? I have. And here are my thoughts.

We desire for those things that we do not have.

So this desire to be good, stems from an understanding of our true, innermost nature, that we are not.

And this desire is good, definitely.

It has led all of humanity in a myriad of paths and philosophies, all trying to make humans good.

In India, this is seen in the festival called Dussehra.

And yet, all of us know deep within, that this celebration of victory is neither permanent, nor real.

This battle is not for mere humans, since it is a fundamental state of the human heart, the default state, called the sin nature in the Bible.

Evil and sin deserve punishment determined by the divine Creator.

God declared that this punishment or penalty is death.

And yet, in God’s love, God became a sinless human being, and took on this ultimate punishment upon Himself. God died, and the rest is His Story.

Sin and death could not keep Jesus in its power, because Jesus was sinless.

He defeated sin and death, once and forever.

The battle is won, What are we called to do?

It is simple.

Believe in what God has done for you?

Then stand, putting on the full armour of God.

We do not have to fight anywhere, dear friends. And especially not against other humans.

The battle is against the forces of evil. It is for God to fight. And He has done it, He has won!

The question is, on whose side would you choose to be?

God bless you!
