This year the rains have been extra heavy at our annual Homeschoolers National Park picnic which took place in July 2013. Over thirty adults and children enjoyed a splashing time in the stream that rushes past a bridge inside the National Park.
Due to workload I could not reach the venue before 330 PM, and by then most of the people had come out of the stream since the heavy rain was threatening to flood the entire stream.
So I will post reports by those who actually attended:
Grace:
This time’s national park visit was fun for us kids but it looked like the adults had even more fun than us! It was great to see all of the splashing around, having fun in the water. They lost all inhibitions as they splashed water on each other and their children. It was definitely great to see that for a change. We kids also had fun. We went upstream and saw quite a few things, including the remains of a dead bird! We saw its slimy inner parts and its feathers lying around… yeah, ugh. We had a delicious lunch of many assorted things that everyone brought. Soon it was time to go as it was raining heavily and stream water level was rising making it difficult for us to cross over to get to the road.
